In 1932, the two brothers founded Helle Knives. Today, their descendants uphold the belief that items can be both functional and aesthetic, as reflected in their current choice of packaging. Helle believes that the casing surrounding each knife deserves the same care, attention, and celebration of their style.
Two brothers noticed in their local community that the farmer’s regular day-to-day knives could use some improvement, and also that they would choose to wear ornamental ‘dress knives’ to church on Sundays. So, an idea was formed to combine the two and create knives that were functional, durable and beautiful. Quality handcrafted items that would set a new standard in Scandinavian knife production.
We crafted a recyclable cylindrical case with a matte finish for an organic feel. With a simple twist, the lid opens easily due to a small hole at the base to allow the air to flow through and prevent resistance. The case is decorated with their natural environment displaying the map of Norway and showcasing Helle’s roots, their love of nature, and the importance of representing both.
