Elevating the Unwrapping Experience

Perfume is a sensory product, and often the packaging will communicate this. The design, materials, and shape of the bottle introduce the fragrance and play a vital role in conveying its essence. This can also be extended to the packaging and in this case, textured paper was used to enhance and elevate the unwrapping experience.

The Brief

David Jourquin’s glass perfume bottles are encased in leather. He was interested in a tactile element for his packaging, choosing a textured paper with a leather effect to match these casings. The bag was to be in black with the logo and contact details displayed in shining gold.

David Jourquin creates emotive worlds inside each bottle of fragrance, with each perfumed drop delivering a range of sensations. He is interested only in delivering emotion to individuals with perfumes that speak of his character and experiences. Highly personal, the scents are born from memories of his childhood, spiced, incensed recollections which flourished into a passion for developing fragrances.

Our Solution

We designed black paper bags in textured paper to suit the founder’s preference. The looping logo is embossed in gold, catching the light beautifully, with the business details such as address, telephone and website stamped at the base. Black satin ribbons were chosen for the handles with additional ribbons to untie as a bow between them. Shiny, silky, and sensory.
